What is Homelink?

Homelink is a wireless control system that is built directly into your car, offering secure and easy access to the devices that you depend on. How can this technology improve your daily drives?

  • Activate your home security system before leaving for work in Gardendale.
  • Close the garage door or gate as you leave for a day trip in Hoover.
  • Flip on the house lights from the driveway after a long day of camping in Birmingham.

Plus, Homelink is easy for even the least tech-savvy driver to program. Let’s take a closer look at what is Homelink:

Benefits

Whether you drive a Chevy Malibu or a Chevy Silverado, you’ll love the convenience that Homelink brings to your driving experience.

  • Battery-Free Operation: No need to worry about charging devices or buying new batteries. This built-in system is powered by your Chevy.
  • Compatibility: From garage door openers to gate systems, this technology works with tons of different radio-frequency (RF) controlled devices.
  • Multiple Devices: Your system may be linked to three different devices, which unlocks a world of possibility in your home.
  • Remote Access: You can use the integrated app to check on your home from the road, allowing you to easily turn off that garage light without driving all the way back.
  • Secure Functioning: The system will automatically alert you when in use, so you can monitor gates and garage door access – even when far away from Bessemer.

Programming

Want to learn how to program your garage door opener? It’s simple. Just follow these steps:

  1. Look above the center console for the Homelink unit on the ceiling of your car. You’ll notice three buttons.
  2. Press and hold the first and third buttons until your cabin lights flash. This is your master reset function.
  3. Hold the button that you want to program while holding the open/close button on your garage door opener. Wait until the lights flash quickly and let go.
  4. Go into the garage and press “Learn” on your opener.
  5. Go back to our vehicle and press the programmed Homelink button for two seconds. If the lights on your opener flash, the two are connected.
