Find Your Perfect Chevy
When it comes to vehicles, every driver will want something a little different to meet their unique driving needs. The shape, size, and capability of the ideal ride will all vary based on an individual’s driving style, travel needs, and budgetary goals. There’s no one-car-fits-all out there, but Chevy does an excellent job at creating a lineup of vehicles that can cater to a wide variety of people and lifestyles. Regardless of who you are, a Chevrolet dealer will likely have something that fits your needs, whether it’s a sports car, family vehicle, or daily driver. These next six Chevy models are for the adventurous or the financially savvy, the people who have a small army they need to drive around, and those who are putting in work and need their vehicle to do the same. Let’s take a look at a few vehicles we think will appeal to a wide range of drivers.
If You Like Driving Fast
There’s a certain confidence that comes with knowing that your vehicle is going to rip away from a stop the fastest. If waiting at a red light feels like sitting at the start line, the Chevy Camaro is the steed for you. It’s been a mainstay of American Muscle since 1966 and has grown more powerful and refined since its fledgling years. In 2023, the Camaro offers four engine options: a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder, a 3.6-liter V6, a 6.2-liter V8, and a supercharged 6.2-liter V8. All four can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds or less, with the quickest supercharged V8 able to do it in just 3.5 seconds. Powerful engines are just the beginning for the Camaro; everything from its highly-vocal exhaust to its standard manual transmission is designed to thrill and delight the person behind the wheel.
For Those Who Venture off the Pavement
Roads can be confining, so it’s no wonder vehicles capable of driving without them are currently surging in popularity. More and more automakers are creating trims with off-roading themes in mind, although a good amount of them are simply appearance packages that may look the part of an off-roader but wouldn’t fare well on unpaved terrain. This is not the case for the 2023 Colorado ZR2.
The midsize pickup has a shorter wheelbase than the Silverado, which makes it a little more nimble on tricky terrain. It’s available with a factory lift for better approach and departure angles, not to mention improved visibility for the driver. The Colorado ZR2 can also be powered by the high-output 2.7-liter turbocharged engine, which produces 430 lb-ft of torque. Several driving modes, including Terrain and Baja, optimize the pickup’s performance depending on the road (or non-road) conditions.
If Your Vehicle Is Part of Your Job
Pickup trucks have long been the trusted partners of many workers, with the capability and cargo space to get big jobs done in a snap. If hauling and towing are all in a day’s work for you, the Chevy Silverado will check off the non-negotiables on your list. With nine trims and a myriad of available features and add-ons, there’s a Silverado for every job. The heart of any working truck is the engine, and the Silverado has four.
There’s the high-output 2.7-liter four-cylinder, which generates 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. There are two V8s, a 5.3-liter, and a 6.2-liter, which make 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque and 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, respectively. Finally, there’s a Duramax 3.0-liter Turbo-Diesel, which produces 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. The 2023 Silverado can also tow up to 13,300 lbs and has a maximum payload of 2,260 lbs. If that isn’t enough, the Silverado HD series is full of bigger and stronger pickups with its own lineup of capable engines.
Say Goodbye to Stops at the Pump
Chevy has several upcoming electric vehicles (EVs), but for 2023 the Bolt and larger Bolt EUV are the only electric offerings. The standard Bolt has the best range, getting up to 259 miles from its 65 kWh battery. Cars that don’t guzzle gas are in high demand right now, and the automotive industry is shifting to keep up. In terms of EVs, the Chevy Bolt is somewhat of a veteran, having made its debut for the 2017 model year, but it’s been refreshed since then with a modern feel for 2023. What makes the Bolt stand out amongst the competition is its affordability. With a starting MSRP of $25,600, it’s one of the least expensive EVs available.[a] The range it provides and the roominess its hatchback body style allows make it an incredible value for 2023.
When Interior Space Is Crucial
There are several reasons why somebody may want a large SUV. Thanks to their large engine, they tend to be quite capable, so they make a good fit for people who need to tow while still having room in the cabin for gear. They’re also popular amongst families, thanks to excellent safety ratings and spacious seating that still leaves room for storage. The 2023 Suburban is the largest SUV from Chevy, with seating for either seven, eight, or nine people. It also has a best-in-class maximum cargo capacity of 144.7 cu.ft. The comfort the Suburban provides is about more than space; its extensive driver assistance features make the SUV safer than ever. Chevy Safety Assist is standard across all trims and includes features like automatic emergency braking and lane keep assist.
A Worthy Investment
Depreciation is a largely unavoidable aspect of car ownership. The fact is that, in almost every case, vehicles lose value the second they drive off the dealership lot. However, not all vehicles depreciate at the same rate. If the idea of making a big purchase that doesn’t retain its value pains you, purchasing a Chevy Corvette may help alleviate some of that discomfort. While it isn’t immune to depreciation, it does tend to depreciate slower than the market average, especially in the long run.
High-performing sports cars are produced in smaller numbers, and less supply often translates to higher prices in the used car market. If it has ten-plus years under its belt and is still in great condition, it becomes even rarer, which drives the resale price up more. Of course, nothing is guaranteed when it comes to used car prices, but investing in a Corvette and taking good care of it is a pretty good bet for maximizing your car’s value.
Something for Everyone
Keep in mind that this is just an overview of these selected Chevy models, and each has trims and add-ons that make them extremely customizable. For example, the Camaro and Corvette have super-performing counterparts, and several models are available in the High Country trim, maximizing convenience and comfort. And while this list doesn’t encompass every type of driver out there, Chevy does. There are many other great vehicles for 2023, like the jack-of-all-trades Blazer or the budget-friendly Trailblazer. If you’re thinking about heading into the new year with a new vehicle and don’t know where to start, take a look at Chevy’s lineup. They’re sure to have something that fits perfectly.
